Mirae Asset Mid Cap Fund aims to invest in high-quality mid-cap companies, which have the potential to be tomorrow's large caps. The fund aims to identify emerging companies which could benefit from strong earnings growth and P/E rerating.

Investment Strategy :

Invest predominantly (>65%) into Mid-Cap equity and equity-related instruments (101st -250th company in terms of full market capitalization). The fund may also participate in other Indian equities based on factors like relative valuations, liquidity and market sentiments

Aim to build a portfolio of companies having robust business models which have the potential to grow into tomorrow’s large caps.

The universe of stocks will comprise mainly companies having robust business models, enjoying sustainable competitive advantages as compared to their competitors and having high return ratios.

The Fund Manager will endeavour to create a robust portfolio to avoid concentration risk and liquidity risk. The Fund Managers will monitor the trading volumes in a particular stock before investment to avoid liquidity risk.

The investment objective of the scheme is to provide long-term capital appreciation from a portfolio investing predominantly in Indian equity and equity-related securities of mid-cap companies. From time to time, the fund manager may also participate in other Indian equities and equity-related securities for optimal portfolio construction. The performance of this Scheme is benchmarked against the NIFTY Midcap 150 (TRI). NIFTY Midcap 150 represents the next 150 companies (companies ranked 101-250) based on full market capitalisation from NIFTY 500. This index intends to measure the performance of mid-market capitalisation companies.

Fund Manager

The fund is managed by Mr Ankit Jain. Mr Jain is a B.Tech (ICT) and MBA (Finance). is a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, CFA, and CFP. He has been associated with PPFAS AMC since 2013. Prior to joining Mirae Asset Mutual Fund (Sep. 7, 2015) as a Research Analyst, he was associated with Equirius Securities Pvt Ltd. and Infosys Ltd. He has more than 5 years of professional experience and his primary responsibility includes Investment Analysis and Fund Management.
